SOLD 04/2023! This is an Ibanez SR taken to the ultimate level! It doesn't draw gaudy attention to itself but the more you play it, the more you truly appreciate it. There's a lot going on 'under the hood' as well to give this bass an edge to a discerning Pro player. Wenge is one of the ultimate tone woods but it is very difficult to work with. To see so and feel much wenge on one bass is almost sensory overload. The solid wenge body has a dark chocolate gloss finish and the 5-piece wenge/walnut neck also has a wenge fretboard! The headstock has a walnut face which adds a bit of nuance to the overall look. The pickups are arched Bartolini soapbars (like early Tobias basses) and the 9-volt preamp is voiced just for this model. It's quiet but really delivers when called upon. The neck is pencil-thin and just 1 1/2" wide at the nut and this model has graphite neck stabilizers for sustain and support. 

The most beautiful feature may be the cloudlike weight of 8 lbs 2 oz. It took a LOT of ingenuity and choice wood selection to keep overall weight so low. I've even got the Ibanez Prestige hard case for this bass but it's in limbo right now.
